Kakouen is an assassin from Kyosho whose sole purpose in life is to protect and serve Moutoku Sousou.

Appearance

Kakouen has long jet-black hair and crystal blue eyes and is usually seen wearing an all-white tunic with white, lace-less high-heeled boots, along with red gloves.

Personality

Kakouen appears to have little to no emotion, rarely changing her facial expression, a detachment that may stem from her childhood experiences in war. Her loyalty to Sousou dates back to that time, when she was forced to participate in battle and was saved by Sousou, who gave her a new lease on life.

Story (Anime)

Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny

Kakouen is first seen trying to take the Dragon Jade from Shimei Ryomou under orders from her leader at Kyosho Academy. She fights Ryomou when Ryomou refuses to hand over the Dragon Jade, but the collapse of the shrine containing it allows Ryomou to escape.

Kakouen, although dirtied, does not give up on her pursuit of the Dragon Jade and tracks Ryomou to a hotel. After beating up the manager, she goes to Ryomou's room, only to find that Ryomou is already aware of her presence; Ryomou kicks a couch at Kakouen, using the opening to escape once again.

Kakouen is later ordered by a newly fired Bunwa Kaku to retrieve the Dragon Jade, as it is the only way to save Sousou's life.

Kakouen then breaks into Nanyo, fighting and defeating many of their fighters until she reaches Gakushuu, who is able to hold her back for a while before she becomes serious and easily gains the upper hand. She ultimately finds the effort a waste of time, as Ryomou—who has the Dragon Jade—is not there.

Kakouen is next seen with the Kyosho team, ready to fight at the Battle of Red Cliffs. Ordered by Chuutatsu Shibai to obtain the Dragon Jade, she attempts to do so but is confronted by Ryomou; although she is able to outmatch Ryomou, the combined Chi blast from Ryomou and Saji overwhelms her, and she is defeated on impact.

Ikkitousen: Great Guardians

Kakouen is revealed to be alive and in charge of Kyosho Academy due to the absence of Sousou and Kakouton. In the aftermath of the Battle of Red Cliffs, she seems determined to restore Kyosho's former glory and power and desperately searches for any sign of her beloved leader Sousou. When approached by a mysterious girl—the real Genpou Saji—with a deal to recover the missing Kakouton, Kakouen warily accepts and later works with Ouin, distracting Kakouton while Ouin makes off with Ryofu. As she is about to finish Kakouton, she is interrupted by Hakufu, and in the end Kakouen is defeated by Kakouton, who tells her that he will find his own way to Sousou and return to Kyosho when he is ready. Later, under the influence of the real Saji's genjutsu, she viciously fights Kakouton and Koukin until Sousou's return breaks her hypnotized state, after which she returns to Kyosho with Kakouton and Sousou.

Ikkitousen: Xtreme Xecutor

Kakouen returns to her home country for unknown reasons and is later seen with Sousou and the others after they recover Teni.
